From the beginning of his legal career at the Vinson Elkins law firm Mr. McConn began trying lawsuits, defending individuals and large corporations. After a brief timehe began handling much larger cases in which the injuries and damages involved were significantly more serious.All of these lawsuits involved personal injury, including serious injuries that resulted in death..Many of these cases involved the representation of doctors and hospitals in which there were claims of medical negligence. Mr. McConn also defended large corporations in various types of products liability lawsuits as well as industrial accidents. In allof these cases Mr. McConn was the lead attorney.
After several years of experience at Vinson & Elkins Mr. McConn decided to represent plaintiffs in personal injury cases and joined the law firm of Fisher Roch&Gallagher (later Fisher Gallagher Perrin & Lewis). For the next ten years he represented persons who had been injured in various kinds of accidents. Many of these cases involved automobile accidents. A large number of his clients had been injured in industrial accidents such as plant explosions, equipment failures, defective products and a variety of different circumstances. Additionally, he represented clients in many medical negligence lawsuits against doctors and hospitals, and in many other matters related to defective medical equipment. Included in the many different kinds of cases he has handled Mr. McConn has represented the families of persons who were fatally injured as the result of the negligence of large corporations and their employees, or resulting from a defectively designed or defectively manufactured product.
